On Demand Music With Online Radio

Edit Article |

Posted: Dec 08, 2010 |

It's quite an experience to be reminded of old times by listening to radio programs that play old music. It is like having a trip down memory lane, not just your memory lane, but the whole world's memory lane; it's a whole new experience for those who are too young to have heard the music of the past in real life.

Nowadays, it's becoming more difficult for older people to listen to listen to the music of their youth. When they listen to the radio and all they hear is new music that they cannot identify with. Quite often, only one day per week is set forth for playing older music, if it is played at all. There are also stations which only play old music late at night; many of the people that want to hear that music are already in dreamland before the late night DJ's even clock in for the night. Listeners are able to locate exactly the genre of music the want at any time of the day on internet radio.

Many younger people, not solely senior citizens, enjoy the vintage life. They derive great enjoyment from reminders of the past like antique cars and classical music. But it is not that easy now to get a record of your favorite albums or even find a station that plays them, sometimes you have to plunk down a lot of cash just to get the record that you really wanted. But all that trouble and expense is a part of the past. The technology that we have now makes it possible for people to enjoy old music anytime, anywhere. The internet can now be your own personal streaming jukebox, and it's the solution for finding all the old music you desire.

Completely different than traditional radio stations, with internet radio's streaming jukebox, you are able to select the type of music that you desire to listen to. So if you would like to listen to old music right now, no one is stopping you. You don't have to wait for a particular day or hour, if you have internet access, you can access any type of music you want at any time via an internet radio station. It is really that simple. You can locate precisely what you want at any time by accessing online radio.

You can relive the music of the 30's, 50's or the 80's or any other time period. That what makes the use of streaming Internet Radio advantageous. You do not have to concern yourself with a disc jockey that decides what to play and when. You make all the choices and reminisce with your old music at a pace that you are comfortable with.

The biggest advantage of Internet Radio is that it can be accessed anytime, and if you want to purchase the music that streams for free, that can easily be done. The majority of internet radio sites have links to buy the music that they play via an online music retail site. Once you purchase a song and download it, you can play it whenever you want, transfer it to a CD or put it on your MP3 player. There are numerous methods for you to relive the music of the past.

You no longer have to worry about your favorite old music disappearing over time. With the Internet working as your own personal streaming jukebox, you have a venue for listening toold time music on your own schedule.

The origin of the word 'slips' is hinted at in an early description of the long stop, who "is required to cover manyslips from the bat". Early cricket writers identify two slip positions — 'short-slip', which was equivalent to modern-day first or second 'slip' position. The other position was 'long-slip', equivalent to the modern-day 'short third man' or 'fly-slip' position. By the turn of the century, an attacking field would usually have two 'slips' — 'first slip' and 'cover-slip' or extra-slip. The name gully apparently derives from the more general meaning of a narrow channel or gorge between 'point' and slips. It became a position in its own right, following the development of off-theory attack towards the end of the 19th century The origin of the term 'point' stems from early cricket when the position was called 'point of the bat' and the fieldsman would field no more than three and half yards from the batsman. 'New fieldsman' was the third man up.

General Knowledge Pt. XVIII

A vegivore is a person who craves or has a special fondness for vegetables. This need not be because the person has an aversion to eating meat but solely due to an intense craving for vegetables. To a vegivore, meat products may only seem like an accompaniment to add flavour to the dish. He/she will find the vegetable dish more satiating than the meat dish.

Indian Classical Singers - Famous Indian Classical Singers -Ways to Enjoy Your Music

OK, say you've got one thousand of your favorite MP3 songs sitting in your hard disk. What's the best way to enjoy those files? Most of us probably will use the Windows Media Player to listen to those files. but did you know there are other more innovative and interesting ways playback MP3, WMA and WAV files? Visit here now http://singer-song.blogspot.com/

Let's take a look at the five methods. - Use MusicMatch Jukebox

If you think most that most PC programs for playing digital music look like the built-in Windows Media Player, think again. There are programs out there that go far beyond the Windows Media Player in functionality. One great example is Musicmatch Jukebox from Musicmatch. Musicmatch Jukebox is quite simply the world's best digital music player. It supports playback of various music formats like audio CDs, MP3s, Internet streams, WMAs, WAV files and more. You also get CD burning, music ripping and music organizing capabilities. The Plus version even allows you to automatically tag your music files with detailed info and album art!

Use a Portable MP3 Player

Portable music players like the Apple iPod, Creative Nomad and Rio Nitrus have taken the market by storm. You don't have to be confined to your desktop PC or laptop to listen to digital music! The portable music players can allow you to take your music anywhere. The compact size of MP3 and WMA music formats means that you can literally take a jukebox of thousands of songs whereever you go! You may also want to check out my review of the top 5 portable music players here. There are also other portable music options, including handphones with MP3 support.

Use a PDA

The latest Pocket PC or Palm-based personal digital assistants (PDAs) can also act as music players. Pop in a large memory card (e.g. 64 MB) and you can store many MP3 or WMA files. Then hook up a headphone, launch the music software in the PDA and you're good to go! I personally own a HP iPaq 2210 which effectively keeps track of my appointments and doubles up as a music player.

Use Your Car Stereo

This is my favorite way of listening to my MP3 collection. I recently bought a car stereo that can playback native MP3 songs. This means that I can pop in a data CD containing hundreds of MP3 files and the car stereo will play them! This does not work on conventional car stereos. If you own a conventional car stereo, but still want to listen to your MP3 songs, one way is to create an audio CD from your music files first. The car stereo will then have no problem interpreting and playing back the audio CD. Of course, in this case, you'll be limited to about 14 to 17 tracks of music only.

Use Your Home Stereo

If you're a music lover, you probably already have a home stereo. Use it to listen to your MP3 music files! However, take note that Like car stereos, conventional home stereos will not be able to play back native MP3 songs. You will need a newer home stereo set with MP3 playback capability. New models from Kenwood, Panasonic, Pioneer and Sony usually have MP3 support.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are many ways to enjoy that digital music collection of yours. My favorite methods of listening to digital audio files is via a portable music player or the car stereo. Of course, you may have your own preference - some people like to listen to music off their desktop PC or laptop. Decide which method(s) is suitable for you and go for it! First download whatever music you want to save to your PSP. You can use CD's, MP3's , or if you already have your music saved to your computer that's even better. If your music is already on your computer and it's in MP3 format you can skip this section and go down to the Window's Media Player section. If your music is on your PC, but not in MP3 format then keep reading.

Now before we begin if you don't have MMJukebox then goto the website listed above. At the home page there is option to get the 'Jukebox now'. After you choose that option it asks if you want to get Jukebox 10. It's only 19.95 but if you want it for free there is an option to get the regular one on that page. The regular Jukebox works, but 10 is so much faster. Instead of waiting 10 minutes to download and convert, it's now done in about 5. Open your Music Match Jukebox and follow these steps:

Go up to the options menu and in the Converter field choose the MP3 format.
Go back to the options menu and now choose the Quality and the size that you want your music to be. I choose Radio 64kkps. It's not as good as CD quality, but unless you're listening to your music through headphones, or just want everyone who's sitting about 40 feet away from you to here the music, you won't miss the difference.
Place your music CD into your computer and select record from CD, music device, etc. The playlist will come up and you can uncheck any of the songs you don't want to download. If you're connected online when you do this, all the cd's and artist informaiton will come up and ask you to choose which ablum you just inserted. Choose the first correct choice. In the end you will get a special reward for doing this. Now select copy music.

If your music is already on your computer, but not in MP3 format, you can go to file and choose the converter option. 2 boxes will pop up and you will be able to choose what kind of music files you want to convert and what format you want to convert them to.

Once your music is downloaded into your Jukebox libary you can choose the option of downloanding your music to your PSP. I choose to go the next step with the Windows Media Player for faster results and more options.

Windows Media Player

Open Windows Media Player and go to the 'Copy to CD or Device' option.
Once there you can click on the down arrow at the top of the first column and choose what music files you want to copy. If you don't see the music you just donwloaded, go to File at the top of the page and click Ppen. You can find your music files in the music folder on the desktop.
After choosing the music you want to copy. plug in your PSP through the USB connection. In the settings column on your PSP, go up to 'USB connection' and hit the X button. You will hear a ding sound to let you know your connected.
This is where some cool stuff comes in. You choose the appropriate Memory Stick drive (ie, E for copying to the PSP from Media Player. Once your PSP comes up hit the plus symbol next to the words PSP. A menu will drop down with the choices of Game, Music, Photo or Saved Data.

Click the + next to Music to open it up. Highlight Music and near the top right corner of Media Player you will see a folder button between an I on a page and an X. If you hit that folder, a bubble will pop up asking you to name it. Give it any name you want. This will be your special folder for whatever music you want to put into it. I have 5 folders on mine. 2Pac, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, Citizen Cope, Audio Slave, and I almost forgot I just added a folder for Linkin Park. Click on the + next to the file you just created and hit the Copy button at the top of Media Player. This will copy all of chosen music to that specific folder. You can do this for how many ever folders you want.

With choosing the first correct album name back when I first downloaded my music on Jukebox, I now have the CD artwork in the box next to the track name instead of a number.

I use this method the most to put music on my PSP. I have a 256mb memory card and I have 105 songs and 5 different game saves on it. I even have 5.13mb worth of space left on my card. If you're wanting to try this guide to copy music to your PSP and experience any problems with it, you can contact me and I will be glad to assist you.
