A grave period for the automotive industry has just ended, and manufacturers are racing out of the gate to get back to the top of their games. While many manufacturers are focusing on developing cutting-edge technology that will revolutionize fuel economy, others are focusing on performance. Some, on luxury. Still others, on interior features. However, only one automaker is revolutionizing the way we navigate, make important phone calls and keep ourselves entertained throughout the drive.
After a record year, Kia is driving itself into headlines yet again. Amidst the failures of the Big Three and low sales numbers across the board in the industry, the Korean manufacturer propelled itself into the spotlight and took advantage of the frail economy by giving consumers exactly what they wanted: reliability, style and high-performance at a reasonable price. These record numbers were so compelling that Kia has kicked itself up a few notches in the food chain, and the technology about to appear at your Indianapolis Kia dealership will make you a believer.
Kia announced that it will be launching its brand-new, hands-free, in-car infotainment system, called Uvo. They showcased the technology at this year’s Detroit Auto Show amidst a slew of other technologies. Standing for “Your Voice,” the Uvo system is one of several upcoming competitors to Ford Motor’s Sync. The 2011 Kia Sorento will be the first of Kia’s long line of quality vehicles to feature the infotainment upgrade, and it will be available later this year. Uvo allows drivers to use voice commands to control their phones and music. This solid new technology will soon be available to Indianapolis Kia Sorrento drivers.
The Uvo also includes a “jukebox” – a USB port that allows owners to store songs to one gigabyte of storage. Both voice and a 4.3-inch touch screen display are options for controlling the system. Kia Indianapolis dealers are also excited about the rear-view camera. When you enter your Indianapolis Kia dealer, you’ll be entering a whole new world of technology.
Through a viral marketing campaign, Kia has proven to consumers that their voice technology is better than the competing automakers. I had no idea that voice recognition technology had matured this fast, but then again, I haven’t tried the technology for myself. But you can bet I’ll be heading down to my Indianapolis Kia Sorento dealer to try it out for myself when the car launches later this year.
While the innovation doesn’t represent a significant step forward in fuel technology in line with the rest of the industry’s focus, Kia vehicles are already fuel efficient cars, mixing reliability and style in for good measure. Kia has had everything that consumers were looking for all along, and that’s why the young manufacturer has taken its rightful spot at the top of the industry, and Kia Indianapolis dealers couldn’t be happier about it. Next time you’re in the market for a new car, it might not hurt to head by your Kia dealership. There’s a lot of new and exciting convenience to be had with the new Uvo system.
